Our Story

Halik, meaning kiss in Tagalog, is a BIPOC woman-owned clean beauty brand.

What started out as me making lip balm for myself has evolved into a little line of clean beauty products that are free of harsh chemicals and endocrine disruptors.

My lip product of choice (Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask) was discontinued and after a few years of trying many, many different products in hopes of finding an adequate replacement (only to be disappointed time and time again), I decided to make my own. I was extremely happy with the results, especially when it kept my lips moisturized almost all day while visiting family in the extremely dry climate of Las Vegas.

After giving a few samples to friends & family, I quickly started getting requests to place lip balm orders, and thus, Halik was born.

Other products came along organically. I started making body butter because one day, out of no where, I started having issues with itchy skin (my skin would become raised and red all over from the itching). Store bought and prescription creams didn’t help. Later, as I decided to transition to all toxin and endocrine disruptor-free skin & body care, I had trouble finding replacements for the goods I had to part ways with, so I started developing more products. Others came about from requests from friends or family – the insect repellent was for my bestie because she wanted something natural to keep the bugs away while she sat poolside at her son’s swim lessons and the hair texturizing cream was a request from my sister-in-law because my niece has eczema and all of the hair products they tried would irritate her scalp.

And that’s how this lip balm brand evolved into what it is today. There’s a story behind each & every product and they’re all handcrafted in small batches with love.
